Copenhagen (dpa) - The Danish state health institute SSI on Monday announced a total of 261 coronavirus infection with the new, more contagious Omicron variant.
The number of Omicron infections is steadily increasing in Denmark, the institute said. By comparison, there were 183 cases the previous day.
The first Omicron cases in Denmark were confirmed on November 28. They were detected in two people who had arrived by plane from South Africa, one of the countries where the variant first appeared.
Several infections with the Omicron variant in Denmark have been traced back to an electronic music concert in Aalborg on November 27.
Broadcaster TV2 Nord reported on Sunday, citing the authorities, that 10 cases have emerged so far among the almost 1,500 people who attended the concert.
